D435i misrecognizes louver as short range
Hello,
D400 misrecognize air conditioner louver as short range.
This is RGB image of air conditioner.

Louver is indicated by red frame.
This is side view of 3D image.

Red frame is the position of D435i.
Louver is recognized as short range.
This is IR image.

Could you give me any advice to resolve this issue?

The D435i is possibly interpreting the slats of the air conditioner grille as a repetitive pattern (an observed area of the scene with similar looking parts that repeat horizontally and vertically, such as a horizontal row of fence posts or a vertical stack of window blind slats). Repetitive patterns can confuse the depth sensing of the camera.
The link below suggests information resources for reducing the negative effects of repetitive patterns.

Putting the camera at a higher height and tilting it downwards at an angle towards the air conditioner instead of facing directly ahead may also help to break up the recognized pattern. A tilt should not negatively impact the depth measurement as long as the tilt angle is not greater than 30 degrees.
