    Hi Kota Mogami

A time schedule for updating the recommended production camera configuration in the link below is not available.

However, RealSense firmwares are tested very thoroughly before release and so it is extremely rare that there are issues arising from a new firmware release.  When selecting a firmware version for a project where stability is of vital importance, such as a critical application or a commercial product, then a policy of 'one version back' should be sufficient.

What this means is a RealSense SDK and firmware combination that is one version older than the latest versions.  Taking this approach means that there is time to see whether any post-release issues arise before incorporating recent versions into a project.

Recent firmware versions for RealSense 400 Series cameras are available from the link below.

    Hi MartyG,

    Thank you for the answer.

I understand your recommendation in using one version older. However, I still want to stick to the production firmware for the ease of our version maintenance. So I look forward the new production FW to be released soon.

The changes in firmware versions are typically minor.  So it is practical to select a firmware and then not update for a period of months (such as every six months) without missing anything vital.  Firmwares may sometimes add support for new features that are introduced, but if your application is not changing over a long-term period then not having these firmware updates installed will not affect your project.
