Humid environment - enclosure L515 sensor
Dear, I would like to use the L515 in a very humid environment (up to 100%) between 0 and 30°C. I see that for the D400 series the datasheet suggest to make your own housing (e.g. section 7.9, 7.10 on heat sink and cover design). Is there anything similar available for the L515?
Just closing the vents of the L515 doesn't seem to be appropriate because cooling from backside will not be sufficient in the current design. To enable cooling in a fully enclosed housing, the ASIC board should have full contact with the heat sink (backside). The same holds for the optical board, I suppose? Is there any support or instructions from Intel regarding this?

Hello Erwin,
Intel does not recommend to place the L515 in a fully enclosed housing because that would require the placement of a transparent material in front of the camera, which would degrade performance. There should be no other glass or plastic of any kind between the L515 and the target object/scene because it would interfere with the projected and reflected lasers.
Section 4.5 of the Intel RealSense L515 datasheet states the supported operating conditions of the camera. Any custom housing you design should meet the listed constraints and avoid placing any material in front of the camera.
Additionally, opening the chassis of the L515 is not supported and voids the warranty.
