Active IR Safety?

Hi,

I noticed that the D415 and D435 are technically Active IR rather than passive. I'm using this in an application that potentially involves explosive or highly reactive substances--is there any particular safety rating or other information about the emitted light from the sensor?

Hi,

What about eye safety? Is the product safe to use for a person looking in the general direction of the device for prolonged periods of time on a daily basis?

A Class 1 laser should pose no danger to human eye health. The United Kingdom government's website has a good description of Class 1 in Section 5.1 of the document linked to below.
