For the RealSense 400 Series cameras (D415, D435 and D435i) the best tracking solution with gesture recognition is a commercial package called Nuitrack SDK. It has a subscription fee of $40 a year but has a free trial version.
The RealSense SR305 model has the best built-in support for hand joint detection and tracking. There are not recently developed software packages that take advantage of this. The older 2016 version of the RealSense SDK has strong support for gestures though (the SR305 is a refreshed model of an older camera called the SR300 that the 2016 SDK supported). This SDK includes a Touchless Controller sample program.

The 2016 SDK can be downloaded from the link below. I personally recommend the '2016 R2' version. It has the entire SDK in a single 1.8 gb download, whilst the '2016 R3' version has to be installed as multiple modules. Please bear in mind that the '2016 R2' SDK may have a slow download speed, so it is best to set the download in motion and then do something else whilst it downloads.

Another means of gesture recognition with an SR305 may be software called TouchDesigner. As it supports SR300 then it should work with SR305, since the SR305 is basically an SR300 with a new casing that is suited to mounting it more easily than the old SR300.
