    What computer hardware are you using please?  In the past, the busnum devnum error has mostly occurred on single-board computing devices.  Thanks!

    So I have reviewed the issue and that appears to deal with Windows 10 whereas this is Ubuntu 16.04. I'm not sure how to relate the problems in that issue to mine. 

    My system is a dual boot however, so I did go ahead and test my camera in Windows 10. It works great! No problems there. But I want this to work with ROS, so I need to figure out what's wrong with this camera in Ubuntu. How should I proceed?

    My expectation is that you are more likely to get useful advice on this from the version of your question at the GitHub, as there are very technically minded Intel engineers / developers and RealSense users there (my own specialization is Windows rather than Ubuntu).  I see that somebody has already responded at the GitHub.
