A-factor left as 0.0 in preset files?
I've just read through the documentation for A-factor to improve subpixel linearity, and it looks promising! However, I noticed that at the end of the document you mention that "The A-factor has now been incorporated into new JSON depth preset files, but the firmware has kept the default A=0.".
If the value of A=0.08 is recommended for all presets, is there a reason why the default value hasn't been changed to 0.08? From the document, it seems like there are only benefits from this improved value, but I'm curious if there's some downside that I'm not understanding or that isn't mentioned.

Hi Toni Divic The json parameter for A-Factor is param-amplitude-factor, which can be defined in a json camera configuration file like this:
"param-amplitude-factor": "0"
The default value is '0'. If a custom json preset is exported from the RealSense Viewer tool then the default that is saved into the json for the param-amplitude-factor setting is also '0' unless the value is manually changed in the Viewer's options side-panel before exporting the json. This setting can be found under Stereo Module > Advanced Controls > Disparity Modulation
My interpretation of the advice in the subpixel linearity guide is that the 0.08 value is a recommendation by the authors of the paper based on their test results, and that '0' officially remains the default value for the A-Factor but RealSense users are free to experiment with the setting to see if it improves their results.
