Hi Tkdronnie  RealSense 400 Series can work with any Intel or Arm processor.  In regard to their compatibility with AMD processors, there is limited information available.  Whilst the cameras have been shown to be able to work with AMD Ryzen Threadripper in a few past customer reports, there is insufficient data to make a recommendation and some non-Ryzen AMD processors have been reported as not working with the cameras.  An Intel i7 would therefore be the recommendable option.

Checking the computers that I use RealSense cameras with, one of them is an AMD laptop model that the cameras work well with, a Ryzen 3.  It is an ASUS VivoBook 15.  Its specification is shown below.

There are Ryzen 7 versions of the ASUS VivoBook laptop that can be found by googling for the term asus vivobook 15 ryzen 7

    Thank you MartyG.

But finally I decided to go with intel i5-11 gen as few forums have cited that it worked with windows (ryzen) but gave problems with ubuntu with same laptop. Though the problem was only low power output from the USD port.

As I 100% work with Ubuntu, I just dont want to take the risk.

That is very understandable.  Thanks very much for the update!
