Problems with the depth image on the Raspberry Pi 4

Hi Martin Studer  Which of the two boards in the D435 camera did you replace, please?  A D435 camera should have a D430 depth module board and a Vision Processor D4 V1 board.

If it was the Vision Processor board that was replaced, there are currently 5 versions of the Vision Processor board and only the V1 version (to make a D435) should be used when replacing a D435 camera's D4 board.

If it was the depth module board that was replaced then it must be the D430 module and not another version such as D415 or D450.

    Hello MartyX Grover

Ok, thanks. I will check that.

I completely dismantled the camera, but couldn't find any markings on the circuit boards that would tell me which version it is. Is there some way to read this information using the software?

It's interesting that it works with the Depth Quality Tool program, but not on the Raspberry Pi.
Could it also be due to the configuration in the Python code?

    Hi MartyX Grover
I found one of the camera modules I ordered back then and also a vision processor board.
Do they fit together? There is no version number on the processor board.
Strangely enough, the camera says D430 on it. Is that correct, or is it just the model number?
When I plug the camera into the RealSense Viewer, it shows D435.

D430 is the correct depth camera module for a D435.  The J32139-120 code on the board in the above image shows that it is a Vision Processor D4 V1 board, which is the correct match for the D430 module in a D435 camera.

When the camera firmware driver detects the D430 module and also the presence of an RGB sensor (which is attached by cable to the Vision Processor D4 board) then the firmware identifies the camera name as D435.
