3d Scanning merging Lidar & Photogrammetry
Hi there,
I am looking to do a combination of Lidar & photogrammetry and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I would be using my existing DSLR high resolution camera & gear, but want to add Lidar and utilize both for the hope of creating accurate and very high resolution 3d scan of objects from large furniture down to objects as small as dice.
Would the L515 be the best option?
Does anyone know of reasonably affordable software that can work with both Lidar and Photogrammetry from separate devices?
Would love some tips too if anyone has gone down this path before as well :)

Hi Heyhoosh,
It really depends on the environment of your project. The L515 works best indoor - if there is any IR light, the data will be inaccurate. The average range is ~ .25 m to 9 m and works best with no external lights.
Here is the link to the L515 datasheet which has very detailed information about the best uses and more technical specifications.
Please note that the RealSense L515 has been EOL and will be discontinued.
