Inaccurate depth measurements by ventilation grille
Hi,
We noticed a problem where the ventilation grille is sometimes being detected as something that's very close to the camera. Can someone explain me why this happens and is there a way to resolve this?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Lyvain Lefever The regular pattern of the grille may be causing the camera to identify it as a repetitive pattern and become confused. Examples of horizontal and vertical repetitive patterns are a row of fence posts or a row of tree-tops (horizontal) or a stack of window-blind slats (vertical). This phenomenon is described in the discussion linked to below.

In that case, a RealSense team member advises that using the High Accuracy camera configuration preset can filter out the 'moir patterns' that can lead to the depth-sensing confusion.
