Finding the best Linux distro for ROS on various computer architectures?
-
Hi Asagllam In regard to choosing a ROS branch, the most recent versions supported by the RealSense ROS wrapper at the time of writing this are Noetic for ROS and Foxy for ROS2.
The RealSense camera model should not matter in terms of selecting a Linux distribution.
In regard to selecting a Linux distribution, the suggestions below may serve you well.
Jetson Nano: Ubuntu 18.04 - my understanding is that Ubuntu 20.04 is not officially supported for Nano.

Intel NUC: Ubuntu 18.04 or 20.04
Raspberry Pi 4: Raspian OS or Ubuntu Server 20.04

ASUS Tinker Board 2: I have seen Armbian 20.05 being used with the RealSense SDK and Tinker Board, but do not have enough information to make a firm recommendation for a Linux distribution for Tinker Board.

TS-7800: I have not seen this particular board used with the RealSense SDK. It apparently supports a full Debian Linux installation.

MartyX Grover Thank you for the recommendations. Especially, ASUS TK-2 and TS-7800 were confusing me. I will keep in my your suggestions when using them.
