De-serializer Board
Good day.
I have a D457 realsense camera, unfortunately, it's been very challenging to get it to work.
The first problem is the additional hardware(components) required such as the deserializer/adapter. My question is, does anyone has a link to where I could purchase the GMSL Deserializer board?

Hello, the company Leopard Imaging provide a deserializer module that is compatible with D457, though it is currently listed as out of stock at the time of writing this.
In regard to alternatives, the important factor in D457 compatibility is that a deserializer product contains a MAXIM MAX9296A component, so you could google for this term.

Yes, you can use the USB-C port instead of the GMSL FAKRA connector. In this mode, the camera will be detected as a D455 and behave and perform exactly like one. To enable the USB connector, a removable cap on the top of the camera should be removed to access a physical switch that needs to be pushed sidewards, as described here:

A deserializer product or special software driver is not required when using the D457 camera as a D455 in USB mode. A special power supply is not required as it is powered by the USB port like the other cameras in the RealSense 400 Series range.
