Is it possible to read data from a laser emitter?

Hello,

I have a question, is it possible to read data from laser emitter?

For example, use d435i's laser emitter as a barcode scanner?

Hi Baltabai K The IR Emitter on the 400 Series cameras projects a pattern of semi-random dots onto a scene to aid the camera in analysing depth detail from surfaces that the dots are cast upon. It would not be suited to barcode reading.

The D435i may be able to be used to recognize barcodes and QR codes if used with the OpenCV vision computing software (which the RealSense SDK is fully compatible with via a compatibility wrapper). An example is the link below, which describes scanning codes with a library called ZBar using C++ or Python code.

Thanks for the answer!

But my problem is that the camera installed quite far from box with barcode, and the image quality makes it impossible to read and scan barcode with help of pyzbar.
