LIDAR Accuracy for less than 3 meter length
< 5mm @ 1m
< 14mm @ 9m

Hi Praveensidharthhtic I do not have an estimate for accuracy at 3 meters. As a rough-estimate rule though, on the 400 Series stereo depth cameras the accuracy over distance is calculated as being less than 1% of the distance of the camera from the object. That equates to around 2.5mm to 5 mm at 1 meter distance, like on the L515 model.
Given that expected accuracy at 1 meter is 2.5 mm minimum, 2mm at 3 meters may be very difficult to achieve. The best accuracy may come from using the new D455 stereo camera model, as it has improved accuracy over distance by a factor of 2x compared to the D435. So the D455 has the same accuracy at 6 meters that the D435 does at 3 meters. You may be able to attain some additional improvement by using a camera configuration option called High Accuracy which alters the balance of the camera's various settings in favor of better accuracy, whilst trading off other aspects such as image fill-rate.
Ultimately though, I cannot offer any guarantees of a particular accuracy range before purchase, especially as other factors such as environment and lighting may also influence the amount of error.
