Hi B Raemaekers  D435i is not currently supported on Windows 7, unfortunately.

So I can't use the camera on a windows 7 system, thank you for the info.

This might be a stupid question but would it be possible to use the normal D435 drivers since I currently don't need to use the IMU?

The firmware driver in the camera can make decisions about which model the camera is based on the internal sensor components that it can detect.  For example, if the firmware cannot detect the D435's RGB color sensor then it identifies the camera as D430 (the caseless Depth Module Kit version of the camera) instead of a D435.

The only way I can think of to turn a D435i into a D435 (other than opening the camera up and disconnecting the IMU but invalidating the camera's warranty) might be to use a firmware driver version directly before the one where D435i support was introduced into the firmware.  I think that may be firmware version 5.10.6 from September 2018.  I would not recommend using such an old firmware though, as you would lose all the bug-fixes and features that have been introduced into the firmware since then.

Seems like a lot of trouble.

I'll look into getting a windows 10 laptop for my tests, I think that will be a lot easier.

    Thank you for your help
