SR305 depth measurement uncertainty
What are the typical uncertainties on the depth values given by the SR305 ?
-
The SR300 technology inside the SR305 has an error factor of around plus or minus 5%. On the newer 400 Series cameras, it is less than 1% at best (though around 2% is a more practical real-world value).
Of the 400 Series models, the D415 model has around half the error over distance ("RMS Error") of the D435 model. RMS Error is where the error in measured depth values starts at near zero at 0 meters distance and linearly increases as an observed object is further away from the camera.
