Lidar Camera
I ordered the new Lidar camera with an expected June 2020 delivery. I was surprised that I was billed for the full amount within a week of placing the order. I would have expected the charges to appear once the camera shipped. Why is Intel charging when the camera is ordered?

In the old Intel Click store that the cameras were sold through before they moved to a dedicated RealSense store, the policy was to charge cards only upon shipment. As far as I recall, that included pre-orders.
The new store's shipping policies are shown in the links below.

Section 8 of the Store Policies page indicates that the Intel RealSense site's payment handing is handled by a non-Intel third party provider, saying "by submitting your order for processing, you authorize our payment processor to charge your order (including taxes, shipping and any amounts described on the site before order submission) to your payment card". This information is not provided on the pre-order store listing though, so I can understand how it could be confusing.
Section 5 says regarding order cancellation: "If you return the products in accordance with this section or cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us)".
