IP rating of D435i

    As far as I know, the 400 Series cameras do not have an IP protection rating.  Previous models prior to the 400 Series did not, according to Intel documentation.

    Generally speaking about protection, RealSense cameras can operate underwater in a sealed unit but are not waterproof.  I do not have data on dust protection but have never heard of a RealSense camera failing due to dust infiltration in the 5 years since their original launch (I have done tech support for all models in that 5 year period).

    I just wanted to update you on a new third-party industrial version of the D435 that I have learned of that is made by the Intel Authorized distributor company FRAMOS.   It is called the FRAMOS D435e Depth Camera and has a listed IP rating for its casing's water and dust resistance of IP66.
