Can the RGB module that is part of the D435 camera sensor be purchased seperately and added to the D400 module depth sensor so the D430 module will also have a seperate RGB camera that can be controled individually ?
My application currently uses a D435 depth sensor which I control the NIR pattern projector, the two (2) NIR cameras and the RGB camera separately and at different sequences and or times. I also acquirer RGB video separately. To reduce the form-factor of my development prototype I would like to use the D430 module for the same functions as I stated here, so my question is can the D435 RGB camera module ( as shown in the D435 picture below on far right) be purchased and added separately to my D430 module ( as shown in D430 picture above) along with the D4 vision module and interposer card & flex cable connector?

The easiest way to obtain an RGB sensor would be to use the D415 Depth Module Kit board. It is the only caseless board in the range that has the RGB sensor integrated onto its circuit board instead of attached separately.
The RGB sensor used in the D435 is not available to purchase as a ready to plug in unit unfortunately.
The advantage of the D415 is better image quality of about 2.5x. Drawbacks compared to D430 are a slower shutter and smaller field of view. The D430 also tracks fast motion better due to its faster shutter.
You can obtain most of the parts you need in one place from the Intel Authorized Distributor company FRAMOS.
