DS5 RGB Module purchasable
Hi there,
Is it possible to purchase the DS5 RGB module toghether with the required electronic connection seperately? On established electronic supply platforms such as mouser.com I could only find the vision processor and the D430 stereo vision module.

If you purchase the D415 depth module then the RGB sensor is integrated onto the board. This is the only board in the 400 Series' caseless module kit range that has the RGB sensor integrated.
The full range of depth module boards, and associated components such as the Vision Processor D4 and the interconnector between D4 and the depth board, are available from FRAMOS. Like Mouser, they are an Intel Authorized Distributor. As mentioned above though, only the D415 board has the RGB sensor and the sensor is not stocked individually.

The sensor used for color in the 400 Series is the OmniVision OV2740, which is also used for the IR sensor in the D400-D415 models (the D420-430 models use a different wide IR imager called the OV9282). I believe that in the D435 USB camera, the RGB sensor connects to the D4 board via a 50-pin cable that has the same board connector as the one used to bridge the D4 and Depth Module boards (the D4 board has two of these 50 pin connectors).
The second 50 pin connector was originally designed to either have an RGB sensor or a tracking module attached to it. The full details of the connector and its pin-out are detailed on pages 50-55 of the old January 2018 edition of the data sheet document (the tracking module section was removed from the data sheet after March 2018 when the T150 Tracking Module component intended for the connector was retired by Intel)
