sunlight interfering even when mostly blocked
I'm trying to detect a wall on a 5m distance from the L515 but even indoors the sunlight is messing too much with the output even when taking some countermeasures.
The wall in the back(with the painting) is 5m away.
The sun has just come up (9am) and is positioned on the right side of the room. There is no window on the right side, the blinds are shut in the back and behind the sensor there are no windows either. The only window that is open is from the left side, the opposite side of the sun. The results show very little of objects to a max of 2.5m and close to nothing/nothing at all for anything further away. Even when using the ambient light preset.
Around 11pm when the sun has fully set, the wall has a very readable surface (ignoring the black spots coming from the lamp and painting).

The goal is to use the sensor in a PE room during normal school hours (9am - 4pm) in which the light cannot always be fully controlled.
Is there a way to make this sensor usable during the day? Given the condition that some of the sunlight can be blocked and some can't be blocked.
Or can it only be used when either the sun has set or when you are fully in control of the sunlight?

Hello Theuws,
Thank you for contacting us.
Infrared light from the sun can interfere with the performance of the device which can degrade the quality of the depth images when used outdoors or in presence of sunlight. As a power-efficient LiDAR camera, L515 will perform best indoors or in controlled lighting conditions. I recommend you check out the L515 User Guide for more information on how to use L515 for better performance.
