D415 RGB and IR spots pattern illumination cross talk. White Strobed/Pulsed illumination/lighting?
Dear all
I noticed in an application a slight cross talk between RGB image and IR spot pattern illumination. I mean that in the RGB image i see many small coloured spots (mainly blue).
Is that by chance because the RGB sensor is actually sensitive also in the IR band? Is it possible to have a sensitivity curve (three curves) of the RGB sensor? In that application there is not very powerful artificial illumination/lighting, so probably this effect would decrease if the white illumination was increased.
I guess that to increase that power it is not feasible to use pulsed/strobed illumination/lighting in sync with the D415 because te shutter is rolling?
Thank you very much
Kind Regards

Hi Alessio Stella It is a known, though rarely occurring, phenomenon that the infrared dot pattern projection can leak through to the RGB image. A method for addressing it is to reduce the Laser Power value, as laser power has a direct relationship with dot visibility. For example, if Laser Power is maximized at '360' then try reducing it to its default value of '150'.
