Hi Pprojectssa  If you would like a ready-built mobile solution to experiment with, there are rugged industrial Windows tablets by various manufacturers with an integrated rear-facing RealSense D410 or D415.  The link below provides links to such products.

If you purchase a 400 Series external camera (D415, D435 or D455) then it can be plugged straight into a full-size USB 3 port on a laptop via a USB cable supplied with the camera without needing a power pack.

If an Android or Windows tablet does not have a full-size USB 3 port and instead has a micro-size USB 3 OTG port then an OTG adaptor (a cable or a 'dongle' stick) may be needed to connect the camera to it.

Yes, the RealSense Viewer can export a point cloud generated in its 3D mode as a ply format point cloud file.  An exported ply file can then be exported into a 3D modelling software package to perform further work on it, such as converting the data into a solid mesh object.  The link below has a tutorial for capturing a ply from the Viewer and importing it into the open-source MeshLab software.

Yes, the D455 would be a suitable choice if you require accuracy at a distance of 5 meters, as it has 2x the accuracy over distance of the D435 and so has the same accuracy at 6 meters that the D435 has at 3 meters.

The RealSense Viewer program and its large range of built-in functions will be excellent for learning the basics of 3D capture before progressing to other software packages.

If you will be using the camera with an Android device then you should build RealSense for Android.
